The Trust acts by raising money, which it can use to maintain or improve the quality of life of patients suffering from cancer or other life threatening illnesses. Funds are required to provide financial help to support, amongst other things, the care of patients in the community for example by providing funds for extra nursing care, to assist with the purchase of special equipment and aids needed or to assist with the payment of essential domestic bills where necessary. For more information on what the Trust can do for you click here.
We also help patients indirectly by supporting the continuing education of the professionals who look after them.
And of course the Trust supports the activities at BA/Macmillan House including physiotherapy, psychology, extra nursing, aromatherapy and assistance for occupational therapy work.
The Trust does not have a paid fundraiser. Our dedicated team of volunteers raises funds throughout the year towards the running of BA/Macmillan House with events such as a Quiz Night, a Jumble Sale, Nearly New Sales, a Summer Fair, a Christmas Fair, a Christmas Concert and an annual Street Collection. Events are listed here.
